Bolt Completes 1 Million Trips In Dubai Within 41 Days Of Launch

Dubai: Estonian e-hailing platform Bolt announced Monday that it has completed 1 million trips in Dubai just 41 days after its December 2, 2024, launch. Bolt launched its services in the city in alliance with the Dubai Taxi Company (DTC). The milestone was achieved with the support of a fleet of premium limousines from over 200 partners, including DTC’s vehicles, and 18,000 trained drivers, DTC said in a Dubai Financial Markets (DFM) listing.

The company explained that key app features, such as transparent pricing, intuitive navigation, live tracking, and multiple ride options—including economy, premium, and XL—have contributed to strong customer confidence in Bolt’s services.

Mansoor Alfalasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation, said, “We are proud of Bolt’s remarkable achievement of completing 1 million trips quickly. This success highlights the strength of our partnership and our shared commitment to making transportation in Dubai more efficient, accessible, and innovative. With Bolt, we offer a valuable mobility option that meets the growing transport demands of Dubai’s residents and visitors.”

Dubai Taxi Company’s partnership with Bolt aims to provide innovative e-hailing solutions and support the Dubai government’s directives to transition 80 per cent of taxi trips to e-hailing in the coming years.

Alfalasi revealed that the next phase would integrate taxi services into the Bolt platform, expanding user options and convenience. He also hinted at plans for Bolt to extend its services beyond Dubai to other emirates.

GJ Kistemaker, Vice President of Partner Markets, Business Development, and MENA at Bolt, said, “Bolt’s mission is to prioritize people over cars, and we are proud to contribute to Dubai’s vision of a connected, smart city. By expanding our fleet with low-emission vehicles and offering efficient, affordable ride-hailing solutions, we fully align with the government’s sustainability and mobility goals.”

Dubai is home to several e-hailing apps, many of which are operated by the government. Popular platforms like Uber, Careem, Blacklane, and Hala Taxi have achieved significant success in the city. Bolt, headquartered in Estonia, already operates its platform in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and some of the major European markets.
